There are a number of safe parking options in and around the Goyt Valley. By safe I mean solid ground under the wheels. There is a single zipped file (4.1MB - short overview) on the subject containing:
  1. An A4 size PDF copy of the map below.
  2. A complete set of individual A4 PDF maps showing each car park (map only).
  3. A single PDF overview containing an image and brief introduction to each car park (see links below for more info).
Refreshments ice-cream van (IMG) may be found most months of the year including weekdays in the Goyt Valley. I am informed by the proprietor that this mobile facility may be located at car parks 5, 4 or 2, if local circumstances on the day cause the proprietor to vary arrangements. The default seems to be car park five (Errwood Hall).

You can travel between car parks 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 at all times. Car parks 3 and 8 are connected by a one-way system at all times. The car park icons on the map below are interactive (pop-up) links to individual car parks for a quick look. These pages contain more information related to the car park concerned, than is provided in the overview in 3 above.

Picnic tables appear on OS maps of the area but there are none in reality. There are occasional bench seats sited between car parks 4 and five, which appear to be re-purposed railway sleepers. Something I am stopped and asked about from time to time, hence this note.
