Introduction

The domain name of this website was first registered in 2008 in connection with a University Assignment, hence its early date. The current website was created in 2021 and started life as a lockdown project. It is a solo effort. It proved feasible because I already owned an archive of thousands of my own images. Many images are posted on another website I have managed for years. The latter not in the public domain.

I have decided to keep the website. I am now active increasingly in the Goyt Valley (and thereabouts). I have long since abandoned use of archive material to allow me to create new content, as a further interest. I expect the website to develop over time incrementally.

For legal reasons I have to state that this website is non-profit and I do not sell images. I have routinely donated varied content and other information to non-profit interest groups on request. That includes visitors from afar planning trips to the Goyt Valley.

Navigation

Clicking the top left banner on any page (except pop-up pages) will return the website home page just in case you get lost in the mist. Similarly, when applicable, the top right banner will always deliver the home page of that particular section of the website, where multiple pages are created in support. Below the menu banner is a clickable navigation ticker which will keep you up to date.

The website makes extensive use of images, videos and PDF files in support. These will be denoted using the notation [IMG], [VID] and [PDF]. Images and videos will be presented on distinctive pop-up pages like this sample [IMG] and this sample [VID]. You will be invited to close those pop-up pages to return to where you were before you clicked a link.

The website works perfectly on both my new and ancient mobile phones, sometimes using pinch-zoom, but the website is intended primarily for viewing on a PC. It serves no useful purpose as a mobile application. Any rare external links will be forewarned and will never include advertising links.
